The New Jersey Vietnam Veterans' Memorial pays tribute to the 1,562 people from New Jersey who were killed or listed as missing during the Vietnam War.

Who is a Gold Star Mother?

On June 4, 1928, a group of twenty-five mothers residing in Washington, District of Colombia, met to make plans to organize a national organization to be known as American Gold Star Mothers, Inc., a non-denominational, non-profitable and non-political organization.

Gold Star Mothers National Monument Foundation

To honor the Mothers whose sons and daughters gave their life in the service of our country. This monument is sponsored by the Gold Star Mothers National Monument Foundation. For all Mothers who know the grief of losing a child in the service of our country, to promote a bond of kinship, and to engage in support for servicemen, the Veterans community, and others who memorialized our nation's defenders.

Gold Star Mothers Day 2010

That the last Sunday in September shall hereafter be designated and known as “Gold Star Mother’s Day,” and it shall be the duty of the President to request its observance as provided for in this resolution.” Proclamation by the President Franklin D.
